Android App Developer

We are looking for an Android developer to work with a talented group of developers and engineers building an android based video application. You will contribute to the design and build of our next generation of video applications in set-to-boxes and remote devices targeting the residential and lodging markets in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of advanced applications for the Android platform
• Unit-testing code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Work with outside data sources and APIs
• Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
• Continuous integration

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience
• Proven working experience in Android app development
• Android TV and Leanback experience helpful
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements and have an in depth understanding of Googles Android design principles and interface guidelines
• Have published at least one original Android app
• Experience with Android SDK
• Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON
• Experience with third-party libraries and APIs
• Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
• Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle
• Ability to work with a team of Android engineers and tackle independent projects

Pay: Salaried Based upon experience

COVID-19 considerations: Telework 90% + Chantilly, VA 20151 office < 10%
