Golf Course Superintendent

Join to apply for the Golf Course Superintendent role at HOAMCO (Homeowners Association Management Company) , located in Lake Almanor, CA. This full?time, non?exempt position offers a base pay range of $35.00/hr $40.00/hr (DOE) and requires a 40?hour week with availability on weekends, nights, holidays, and overtime as needed to maintain an exceptional golf course experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and supervise Golf Maintenance staff within the guidelines set by the LACC Employee Handbook and the General Manager/Operations Manager.
• Coordinate golf course maintenance activities to provide a superior playing experience that meets or exceeds local competition.
• Train and instruct staff in proper execution of duties and safety practices; conduct regular staff meetings and document attendance.
• Apply personnel administration and regulatory knowledge, including:
  
  
  • Employment laws related to wages, hours, and working conditions
  • Safety standards, state law, workers compensation, and OSHA requirements
  
  
  
• Provide performance evaluations using the LACC Employee Evaluation Form, delivering seasonal and annual reviews as scheduled and documenting feedback, coaching, and training throughout each period.
• Assist the General Manager in creating the annual Reserve Budget for Golf Maintenance, reviewing the reserve study and recommending replacement of major items when necessary.
• Purchase, approve, and oversee golf course equipment and major repair projects, ensuring all procurement requests over $6,000 are accompanied by a signed purchase order.
• Maintain records on all golf course maintenance operations, including equipment, supplies, and material on?hand.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; experience in handling all phases of golf course maintenance required.
• Class A or Class B membership with the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, or an equivalent 3?year experience as a Golf Superintendent or Assistant Golf Superintendent.
• Certification in Golf Course Maintenance preferred; Agronomy coursework desirable.
• California certified pesticide applicator license or equivalent.
• Knowledge of turf grasses, mowing, sand traps, pesticides, aeration, irrigation, drainage, and construction areas including soil compaction, sprinkler installation, and greens, tees, and fairways design.
• Experience with golf course equipment maintenance and repairs; ability to work effectively with others and follow written and oral instructions.
